What makes up the cost?

Look at the whole transaction.

Your property price and your settlement fee are different amounts. When you enquire, an approximate purchase or sale price helps us understand the transaction; it is not a fee estimate.

Ask your written quote to distinguish these amounts.
CostWhat to clarify
Professional feesThe settlement work included, the fee and GST treatment, and any work excluded from the agreed scope.
External chargesApplicable searches, registration and electronic settlement charges, and whether each amount is confirmed or estimated.
Duty and adjustmentsAny applicable transfer duty and the transaction’s rates, taxes or other adjustments. These are separate from the professional fee.

A quote that fits your matter.

Tell us whether you are buying, selling or transferring, the property suburb and type, whether a contract is signed and any known deadline. Share what you know; you can leave unknown details blank.

Estates, private transfers, commercial property and other non-standard matters need a separately defined scope and quote. Additional work, including a contract review, also needs its own agreed scope and fees.

Transfer duty

Use the official duty calculator.

RevenueWA’s calculator provides an estimate of transfer duty, sometimes called stamp duty. It does not calculate your settlement agent’s fee or the complete cost of buying a property. The applicable duty depends on your transaction and circumstances.
